Miya's nickname for Kusano is "Adopted Child". She has a very close sibling-like relationship with #107 Shiina, despite the fact that his power is the naturally opposite of hers. Her power can be difficult to control because of her age and because her adjustment wasn't finished. Kusano has the power to control plants, making them grow at accelerated rates and to unnaturally large proportions her name (kusa+no) means a "grass field" literally. She has expressed a desire to be Minato's wife when she grows up. She does not like fighting or quarrels and she can be seen stopping them when they start.
She calls Minato, Onii-chan (older brother), and is the most attached to him. Commonly referred to as 'Kū-chan', she is also known as the "Green Girl" or "Green Lady". She is apparently a fairly decent cook, but can only cook curry in large amounts. After hearing Tsukiumi say that she is Minato's wife she decides that she is going to be his wife too. A running gag in the story is how her clothing always end up in tatters every time she fights. She is very naive and often says things she does not understand, and is often the most 'childish' of Minato's Sekirei, even more so than Kusano. At times she has a ferocious bear appear behind her - the reason given is because she is Miya's disciple. This is enforced by the heavy combat gloves she always wears. Musubi's abilities are based on hand-to-hand combat which utilizes her greatly enhanced strength. She met Minato when she literally fell out of the sky. It was said in a private conversation between Miya and Matsu, Matsu explains her thoughts of Minato saying "Mina-tan both the cruel rules imposed to the Sekirei and their controlled fate, he will completely destroy such thing for us" Miya replies "I'm sorry to say this Matsu, but such a thing, I simply cannot." most could have ended with: believe it.
In the anime Tsukiumi was winged at the first stage and her winging was end of the first stage. All 6 reacted to him (four of them are "the Single Numbers") - three at the game's first stage: Musubi, Kusano and Matsu (her winging was end of the first stage) and three at the second stage: Tsukiumi, Kazehana and Homura (he was the last unwinged Sekirei and his winging was the final aim of the second stage). And due to his actions in the aiding in the escape of the capital, the MBI tightens its hold on the city (no longer allowing Ashikabi and their Sekirei to even ride the train). He is obviously the strongest Ashikabi in the northern part of the city (sometimes referred as "Minato of the North"). In the beginning of story he had a passive personality, but gradually his kindness and love to his Sekirei (although he seems to be unable to say that he loves his Sekirei) and desire to protect them are making him surer of oneself and more manly.

This binds the Sekirei to him and allows them to use their full power in the elimination battle. While he is not allowed to sneak off or else the MIB will 'retaliate'. Also as a consequence of their meeting, Minato discovers that she is one of 'Sekirei' and he is her 'Ashikabi', human with special genes that allows them to "wing" Sekirei. But, later on finding the Izumo inn (which becomes a real home for him and all 6 of his Sekirei). It is becaues of this meeting he's kick out of his apartment. He met Musubi by a stroke of luck after failing the exam the second time while Musubi was being attacked. As a result he has been branded an idiot and loser. Wishes to be enrolled in Shindong University Shinto University (anime). Minato is highly intelligent, yet due to his inability to cope under pressure has failed the college entrance exam twice. Minato's known family consists of his mother, grandmother and younger sister his father is unknown, but it's hinted, that Minaka might be Minato's father.
